It all began with an idea for service
1. Northbrook Veterans Center will assist local Northbrook veteran organizations in their continued mission to educate the residents and children of Northbrook about the existence of and mission of our Veterans and what they have accomplished and sacrificed so that we can all enjoy the freedom that we enjoy today. Examples of which are the Memorial Day Parade in which we distinguish and respect in solemn reverence the fallen, Independence Day which is a glorious celebration of our birth as a free nation, and hosting our Veterans Day assembly and joining the various schools which invite us to their assemblies.
2. Northbrook Veterans Center will assist in attending to the needs of those Veterans within Northbrook, whether or not they are a member of the Legion or VFW, by dissemination of information regarding their benefits and relevant counsel thereto, by satisfying the need for orthopedic devices such as wheelchairs, and by helping to provide living essentials for a returning Veterans and to Veterans exiting homelessness.
3. The Northbrook Veteran Center will assist with fundraising for the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars thus ensuring their essential viability and meaningful presence in our Village for years to come.
4. Northbrook Veterans Center will assist to revitalize long-standing monthly visitation of permanent disabled Veterans at Lovells Great Lakes Hospital which was suspended due to the pandemic.
5. To establish the Northbrook Veteran Center as a bona fide and vital charity within Northbrook in perpetuity.
